Take 5: Top Things to do in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter

San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter is easily the heart of the city. A modern, urban community based on historic architecture, the neighborhood is mostly made up of nineteenth-century buildings and an assortment of art galleries, worldly cuisines, boutiques, rooftop lounges and music venues. Founded in the 1850s, the area consists of only a few blocks that were once full of brothels, bars and gambling halls. Today, the top things to do in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter can include a mix of past and present, like a guided tour of Victorian-era buildings followed by an evening out at one of the city’s top nightclubs. Easily explored by foot or pedicab, this charming district is a must-visit for those staying at resorts near San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter.
