Meet Chef Andrew Reyes

Chef Andrew Reyes is at the helm of Tidal, Paradise Point’s signature restaurant. Born in Guam, Chef Andrew brings over a decade of experience to the kitchen where he infuses his passion for Pacific Island flavors in every dish and puts care into showcasing the local purveyors who provide every seasonal, local ingredient.

After discovering his love for cooking in high school, Chef Andrew found his culinary home in San Diego, California where he served as Head Chef of Counterpoint, and Sous Chef of Urban Solace Restaurant. Most recently he held the position of Sous Chef of True Food Kitchen. Outside of restaurants, Chef Andrew competed on Food Network’s Guy’s Grocery Games and Cutthroat Kitchen, and received Runner Up in Chefs’ Roll Art of the Plate Competition where he showcased his keen eye for unique presentation.

As the Chef of Tidal, Chef Andrew seeks to continuously evolve the menu as well as mentor the Tidal team to create a unique culinary experience guests will not soon forget. Chef Andrew focuses on highlighting the bounty of San Diego, from local farmers to coastal seafood with and infusion of Pacific Rim flavors.
