Surf & Stay at San Diego's Island Resort

The kids are already counting down until summertime but in the meantime the family get-a-away favorite, Paradise Point, San Diego’s Island Resort will provide a spectacular array of packages to its guests this spring break.  Paradise Point is offering activities that are sure to satisfy everyone looking for the perfect San Diego Spring Break.  Some of these include personalized surf or paddleboard lessons, exclusives to SeaWorld and authentic California cuisine served overlooking Mission Bay.  One would not want to miss out on the many activities that are just waiting to be experienced on the warm sands of Mission Bay this spring.

The island may be on the bay, but we're bringing Paradise to the ocean! The Paradise Surf Academy has officially arrived in time for spring break in San Diego, and both kids and adults alike can learn to hang ten with the “Surf & Stay” surf lesson hotel package. Take part in a 1 day Surfing 101 course or a 3 day surf camp on Mission Beach, then unwind and relax back on the island in luxury accommodations.

Each half-day class starts with a boat ride across the bay to our partners at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center. Their expert staff will brief you on the “Creatures & Currents” of our beaches, teach you basic moves on the sand, then take you over to Mission Beach and get you shredding waves in no time. Classes include wetsuit, surfboard, leash, use of Aquatic Center locker rooms and showers, and round trip dock-to-dock transportation. Must be 6 years or older. Classes run from 12:30-3:30 pm daily. 48 hour enrollment notice required. Package rates starting at $275.

If you’re looking for something a little slower-paced, try your hand at the fun new sport of stand-up paddle boarding on Mission Bay.  Stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) is ancient form of Hawaiian surfing where one stands on an oversized surfboard and paddles around using an oar.  SUP is a great way to explore Mission Bay this spring break in San Diego and also duals as a low-impact, fun workout. Paradise Point's “Paddle Into Paradise” stand-up paddle boarding hotel package includes a one day class: 1 hour instructional lesson on Mission Bay by the Paradise Marina staff followed by 2 hours of equipment rental for you to practice and discover the bay on your own. Lessons are held 12:30-3:30 pm daily, though reservations must be made 48 hours in advance.  Package rates starting at $255.

For total family fun, take advantage of our great location as the closest resort to SeaWorld (just across the street from our private island) and book our SeaWorld spring break vacation package including 2 adult tickets to the park and breakfast for 2 at our waterfront restaurant the Barefoot Bar & Grill. Prices starting at $355/night; plus tax and gratuity.  Additional Sea World tickets will be available at $70/adult, $62 for children 3-9 years of age.
