Craft and Catch Converge With New Dining Concept Set in Historic Beach House Overlooking Mission Bay

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – March 26, 2014 – Chef Amy DiBiase’s highly anticipated new San Diego beach restaurant, Tidal, will launch on April 10 on the west shore of Paradise Point Resort & Spa's 44-acre island. Set in what was once a private home in the 1960s, the new 3,000-sq. ft. beach restaurant will offer panoramic waterfront dining on San Diego’s Mission Bay.

Offering a menu where “craft and catch” converge, Tidal features a thoughtfully curated selection of local seafood, seasonal ingredients and craft beverages in a laid-back bayside setting. Known for putting a Mediterranean twist on California Coastal cuisine, Chef Amy’s creations will be anchored by deep French and Italian influences that result in light, modern adaptations of traditional seafood dishes. Highlights of this new beach restaurant in San Diego include ricotta gnudi, chicken confit and olive oil poached halibut.

Drawing inspiration from the ever changing tides, the beach restaurant’s menu will evolve at Mother Nature’s whim using only seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Tidal, will also be home to a carefully culled collection of oysters, cheeses and small-production beverages coordinated by Chef Kyle Bergman.

The renovation team sought to preserve the building’s original architecture while infusing a contemporary interpretation of design from the era it was built by Hollywood producer Jack Skirball.  The resulting ambiance is an airy beach house grounded by the use of industrial and mid-century elements such as riveted aviator chairs, capiz shell globes and live edge wooden tabletops.  A nod to the beach restaurant’s residential roots, communal tables, a plush indoor lounge, and cozy fire pits encourage collective dining and causal group gatherings.  Expansive windows and a spacious deck line the western façade of the San Diego beach restaurant, revealing unrivaled 180-degree views of Mission Bay.

Tidal will serve dinner seven days a week; parking is complimentary. For more information on the newest beach restaurant in San Diego, visit
