It is one of five great restaurants that share the same name under the Noble House brand.   BALEENsandiego is uniquely positioned overlooking San Diego’s Mission Bay and offers indoor and outdoor seating and a private dining area for groups and large parties with an outdoor terrace. 

For its outdoor dining experience, BALEENsandiego restaurant was recently crowned Best Outdoor Dining by AOL City Guide. The New York Times has called BALEENsandiego, "One of the best dining secrets in San Diego.” BALEENsandiego’s menu is an artful blend of land and sea cuisine infused with regional flavors to create savory beginnings, entrées and sides, and divine desserts. Knowledgeable servers can recommend pairings from BALEENsandiego’s list of fine wines. Among its delectable desserts is the Sugar and Chili Spiced Apple Empanadas, a gingerbread pudding with caramelized bananas and hard rum sauce, which BALEENsandiego calls a “Drunken Monkey,” Warm Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, and freshly churned Gelatos and Sorbets. Young ladies and gentlemen are never an afterthought. Small portions of rather “grown up” choices are offered on a special menu, which includes a Petit Filet, Tempura Shrimp, Spaghetti, a Grilled Kobe Style Burger,  and Wood Roasted Chicken Quesadilla. 

Although BALEENsandiego takes its cuisine, presentation and service very seriously, a whimsical monkey motif lends a lighthearted air to BALEENsandiego’s candle-lit ambience. A wide-open and bustling exhibition kitchen and centrally located copper hooded fireplace add to the scenery.  In addition, Baleen makes a perfect setting for groups and get-togethers.  Baleen offering a private dining room for intimate get togethers and special occasions within a lush tropical island resort setting and just minutes from downtown San Diego.   BALEENsandiego opens for dinner every day at 5 p.m. and serves until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.  Reservations are suggested.
