Thinking Pink: San Diego's 3-Day Walk For the Cure

With October serving as National Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Susan G. Komen San Diego 3-Day Walk coming up in November, we’re thinking pink in Paradise.

The statistics are astounding. One in every eight U.S. women will be diagnosed with it. More women will die from it than any other cancer.  Almost 40,000 people will die from it this year. And annually, thousands of San Diegans partake in a 60-mile walk as a bold statement against it.

For the past 12 years, the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk in San Diego has served as a tribute to those lost to the disease, to raise money for research, and generate hope and inspiration for those currently battling it.  Participants of all ages and genders come together to walk for 3 days and 60 miles down the California coast from the Del Mar Fairgrounds to Petco Park in the historic Gaslamp Quarter. Their journey is physical, emotional, and spiritual and requires an extraordinary amount of strength and endurance to complete.

Which is precisely why Paradise Point is offering a hotel discount for San Diego Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk participants. Recoup from days 1 and 2 of your amazing journey in one of our lanai garden rooms for just $159 per night November 18-20.  Our San Diego resort is located right across the street from the 3-Day Camp and day 3 starting point, so you’ll never be far from all the action.

One final remarkable and encouraging statistic? More than 2.5 million survivors in the U.S. (and growing!) every day thanks to the research funded by this event and similar groups.
