Something Old, Something New, Something You
Having been witness to countless wedding ceremonies, it is always nice to see brides and grooms do something a little different in their wedding ceremony that sets it apart from others. Today, a “traditional” wedding doesn’t have to mean stuffy, boring or antiquated. The modern wedding is flexible and can include as much or as little distinctive details as the couple wishes to add.
I've seen it done many ways during my time at Paradise Point. From the attire - be it brightly colored high heels, casual flip flops or Converse sneakers - to the music they choose to walk down the aisle (I’ve heard everything from hard rock to Disney tunes), using the ceremony to capture the personalities of those being honored is what makes it memorable.
Recently, I spoke with a friend who plans on walking his bride down the aisle along with his parents (her parents are deceased). Another bride and groom decided to have their first wedding dance begin immediately after they said “I do” - a nice touch and something unexpected that really gave the ceremony an extra special touch.
Trends are hot these days, and not hard to find and get addicted to with blogs and sites like Pinterest, but don’t get lost in the coolest idea you saw at someone else’s wedding. Find the perfect blend of something old, something new, and something you; be the wedding that offers something different and says something unique about the two of you and the love you have found together. After all, a love like yours cannot be duplicated.
