San Diego Restaurant Week: Chef’s Recs

The tastiest time of year is here! San Diego Restaurant Week is back, bringing with it discounted prix fixe menus at San Diego’s best restaurants. At Baleen at Paradise Point, it means a final chance to try three courses from the New York Times-acclaimed restaurant’s summer menu for just $30.

Celebrated Chef Amy DiBiase is known for using only local, seasonal ingredients in Baleen’s bayside kitchen, allowing diners to experience the Southern California region’s finest flavors at their peak through an ever-changing menu.  With the late September arrival of autumn, a new fall menu will also roll out at the Mission Bay restaurant.

Savor the taste of summer during the season’s final days throughout San Diego Restaurant Week. With 18 possible prix fixe combinations at Baleen, choosing how to bid culinary farewell to summertime can be tough.  For a winning trifecta of summer flavors, try Chef Amy’s recommended line-up:

Heirloom Tomato & Stone Fruit Salad
Burrata, white balsamic, basil pistou

Eden Farms Pork Tenderloin
House sauerkraut, whole grain mustard, preserved plum sauce

Blueberry Buttermilk Upside Down Cake
Lemon curd, ginger gelato
