Row Your Way to A Memorable San Diego Meeting

The San Diego Crew Classic paddles its way into Mission Bay every spring, living up to its name as “America’s Premier Spring Regatta”.  Not only is this San Diego event a top attraction for vacationing families, it’s also a conveniently-located, casual yet classy outing for groups holding conferences in San Diego.

San Diego Crew Classic hotels

From its modest start in 1973, the San Diego Crew Classic has matured into the largest regatta in the world held for primarily eight-oared rowing shells. The regatta provides a venue for high school junior programs, collegiate teams, masters’ clubs, and even Olympic-level competition, many of which stay at our hotel near the San Diego Crew Classic course. The calm waters and lush lawns of Mission Bay Park offer a perfect setting for this two-day San Diego event consisting of close to 100 races with more than 4000 athletes, plus a family festival sponsored by the San Diego Zoo and beer garden featuring local craft brews.

With Paradise Point’s unique San Diego conference venue being the closest Crew Classic hotel to the course, the races present the opportunity to hold a memorable off-site event that embodies the Southern California meetings experience.

The Crew Classic can also serve as inspiration for unique teambuilding events that allow meeting attendees to get out on the water themselves. Paradise Point often holds sailing regattas, kayak races, beach Olympics, and other group events directly outside its waterfront conference center on Mission Bay.
