Real San Diego Gay Weddings: Kory + Brian
A night of pizza and Monopoly led Kory and Brian to a day of bliss and commitment at Paradise Point. They knew the island resort was the perfect place for a San Diego summer wedding, where they could legally mark the beginning of their union now that the DOMA court ruling favors gay weddings in San Diego and across California. The couple chose to say “I do” on the Island Point Lawn with Mission Bay as their backdrop, surrounded by friends, family, and two dogs as the official ring bearers. Instrumental music and send-off sparklers are just a few of the details that made this San Diego gay wedding one of a kind.
Newlywed Brian shares their real San Diego wedding inspiration, photos, and favorite memories of the big day.
Why they chose Paradise Point as their San Diego gay wedding venue:
We chose Paradise Point because we love San Diego and also because the resort reminds us of Hawaii, another one of our favorite spots. After visiting the resort and meeting the incredible people that work there, we knew there wasn't any place else we wanted to have our ceremony.
The theme and inspiration behind their San Diego beach wedding:
Our love for the beach and ocean led to our beach casual theme. We wanted the day to be fun and relaxed, which is a reflection of our personalities.
The highlight of their wedding day:
It had to be the wedding reception held in the Dockside Room and being able to share our love and commitment with our friends and family.
