Picking The Perfect Wedding Date

As the time of year where sandals as acceptable footwear comes to a close, so does the San Diego wedding season. And while we do love a joyful, sparkle-adorned winter wedding at Paradise Point, our focus is instead on gearing up for engagement season and a time where many couples are securing dates for the coming year.

For some, figuring out how to pick the perfect wedding date can be a decision that is just as important as finding your dream gown, choosing the most fabulous venue, or selecting a theme or color scheme. According to The Knot, picking a wedding date is the third thing you should do immediately after getting engaged (following the celebrations & champagne at the engagement party, of course).

Some of the most popular reasons why particular wedding dates are selected can range from it being the day you first met, your (grand)parents’ anniversary, the proposal day, tradition or superstition, or simply just because they’re fun and have a nice ring to them.

As we approach one of the last major San Diego wedding weekends of the year, we are busy celebrating and preparing for our couples who have selected a date that was wildly popular: 11/11/11. Despite the fact that this amusingly repetitive date falls on a Friday, Paradise Point has four ceremonies and receptions scheduled that day!

Each year will bring unique dates such as this that will become the most sought out dates regardless of what day of the week it falls on. If you haven’t picked your date yet, here is a recap of fun, popular 2012 wedding dates that everyone is anxious to book:

  • 2/12/12
  • 8/10/12
  • 10/11/12
  • 12/12/12

If you have your eye on any of these 2012 wedding dates, be sure to talk to your prospective venues (#4 on The Knot’s “just engaged” to-do list) to make sure they’re available and if so, book it!

For those of you already happily married, we’d love to hear when you were married and what special motive made you pick your wedding date.

Picking a good wedding date is important. I cant agree more. It will have a direct impact on your budget, theme and a lot of other aspects of your wedding.

How difficult would it be to plan a wedding for Aug. '13 from NYC? Is this possible?
